Oil & Gas / Pipeline Permit Definitions

The following are brief definitions of the various permits listed in the Oil and Gas Ordinance.

Drilling Permit

Any person(s) desiring to drill a well for oil or gas.

Workover Permit

Any person(s) desiring to workover an oil or gas well. Workover is the re-completion or re-entry of existing well within the existing bore hold or by deepening or sidetrack operations in an effort to secure production where there has been none, restore production that has ceased, or increase production.

Production Permit

Any person(s) desiring to produce oil or gas from a well.

Well Plugging & Abandonment Permit

Any person(s) desiring to plug and/or abandon an oil or gas well.

Pipeline Permit

Any person(s) desiring to install or operate a pipeline.

Pipeline Abandonment Permit

Any person(s) desiring to abandon a pipeline.

Pipeline Modification Permit

Any person(s) desiring to modify a pipeline.

Pump Station Permit

Any person(s) desiring to operate a pump station to facilitate the utilization of a pipeline.
