Assistant City Manager - Ogden "Bo" Bass

Ogden “Bo” Bass currently serves as the new Assistant City Manager (ACM).

Responsibilities

He is responsible for a wide variety of projects and strategic initiatives that support City Council, the City Manager and the community’s priorities and the City’s annual work plan. The ACM’s primary responsibilities will be external services and strategic initiatives. In addition, the ACM provides administrative guidance to assigned departments, assists with their budget development and administration, monitors and coordinates City programs and assists in the creation, implementation and presentation of long- and short-range strategic plans to meet the organizational needs of this growing City.

Bo Bass

Experience

Bass has served the City of Allen as Director of Community Development since 2008. Before that position, he worked as Assistant City Manager in North Richland Hills, and Deputy City Manager in Bedford. In addition to his public-sector experience, Bass has seven years in the private sector. His responsibilities have included oversight and management of multiple departments including planning and development, economic development, engineering, public works, parks and recreation, and information services.

Education

He attained Master’s degrees in land development and urban and regional planning from Texas A&M and a Bachelor’s from Texas A&M. He has also served as an adjunct professor in land development planning at the University of Texas at Arlington and holds a certificate from the American Institute of Certified Planners.

Community Involvement

An Eagle Scout, he has served his communities through various activities including the United Way, the YMCA and Foundation for Allen Schools. Bass has a long history in the area having grown up in Freeport and still has family and friends scattered throughout the Houston area.
