Scope of Work

The purpose of this project is to reduce traffic delays on League City Pkwy. and prepare for the future growth of traffic in the area. This will be accomplished by signalizing these all-way stop controlled intersections, and add dedicated right-turn lanes on some of the approaches. The project also includes improvements to the driveway for Gilmore Elementary, which will improve the overall efficiency of traffic at the intersection. These improvements will reduce traffic delays, and prepare for the future growth of traffic in the area.

Project Status as of July 2022

Land acquisition is nearing completion and relocation of affected utilities is currently in progress. Traffic Systems Construction, Inc. submitted the best-value bid and was awarded the construction contract at the May 10, 2022 City
Council meeting. The contractor is currently constructing the driveway improvements at Gilmore Elementary. These
improvements are necessary to provide efficient performance at all intersections, especially at Magnolia Meadow Ln
intersection where the school is located. Work on the right-turn lane from Magnolia Meadow Lane onto League City
Pkwy is anticipated to begin in mid-July, weather permitting.

Original Schedule

The original schedule, as of September 2019, shows the design phase of a New Traffic Signal at League City Parkway and Brittany Bay/Fennigan completed in quarter 3 of 2019. Construction bidding is scheduled for quarter 4 of 2021 with construction following through quarter 2 of 2023. Construction time is an estimate as each bid is awarded based on cost and time submitted by the contractor.

Current Schedule

The current schedule, as of January 2022, shows the design phase of a New Traffic Signal at League City Parkway and Brittany Bay/Fennigan completed during quarter 4 of 2019. Construction bidding was complete in quarter 3 and 4 of 2020. Construction shows completion from quarter 1 through quarter 1 of 2022.

Original Schedule

The original schedule, as of September 2019, shows the design phase of a New Traffic Signal at League City Parkway and Landing Boulevard beginning quarter 4 of 2019 through quarter 4 of 2020. Land acquisition is scheduled for quarter 3 of 2020 through quarter 3 of 2021. Construction bidding is scheduled for quarter 4 of 2022 with construction following through quarter 1 of 2024. Construction time is an estimate as each bid is awarded based on cost and time submitted by the contractor.
