Camps are offered during the school breaks when Hometown Heroes Park is open. Camp hours are 7-6pm. Snacks are provided daily, parents will need to provide lunch. Our four main camps are: Camp by the Creek (June-August), Thanksgiving Break Camp, Winter Break Camp, and Spring Break Camp.

Camps are held at the Community Center: 400 S. Kansas Ave. 

Camp by the Creek Information (Summer 2023)

Spend your summer with us! Our energetic and talented camp staff entertains the campers with different programs, arts and crafts, games, field trips, and outdoor activities. Camp by the Creek continues to remain one of our most popular programs. The Parks and Recreation Department is proud to provide quality programming, while continually promoting a positive environment.

Ages

6 to 12 years old (The registration system will determine the age using an aging date of March 1, 2023. It will go by how old the child is on or before that date.)

Registration can be done online or in person at Hometown Heroes Park or the Community Center. Registration will open at 8 a.m. both online and in person.

  • Session 4: July 3 to 14 (no camp July 4)
  • Session 5: July 17 to 28

Cost:

To secure a spot in a session a $50 dollar deposit must be paid per session per child. All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. $10 discount given for additional campers. Prices listed are per session.

Counselor-In-Training Program (CIT) 

Due to popular demand, the City will be making some changes to the CIT program to accommodate more youth interested in participating in this volunteer experience. CITs will submit an application with their preferred session dates. We will do everything we can to give CITs their top preference, but we cant make any guarantees. Up to ten CITs will be selected per session. Application deadline is April 21. Notification will be made by May 1.

NEW- Kinder Camp

This summer will be offering  our first Kinder Camp. Each session will have a max of 18 kids. This camp is open to kids 5 years of age, with an aging date of March 1, 2023. Parents can sign up their child for either a full day or half day.

If registering online, we recommend making sure you can get into your account and everyone is added to your household before registration starts. If you need to create an account, do so early! Accounts creating online can take up to 72 hours to be approved.

Creating an Account (Household)

Household accounts can now be created online. To create an account, visit: Online Parks and Rec Registration and click on new account and fill in the required fields. Please make sure to add everyone living in your household, including children. After setting up your household account, League City residents must email a copy of their water bill to Parks  to verify residency and have their account approved. Households must be approved before any registration can occur. Accounts can take up to 72 hours to be approved. 

Accounts can also be created in person at Hometown Heroes Park. League City residents will need to bring in a valid ID and their League City water bill. Non-residents will need to bring in a valid ID.
