Scope of work
This project will provide critical detention improvements along advantageous open tracts of land within the watershed coupled with grade adjustments to the existing bayou in efforts to reduce water surface elevations to benefit the area while ensuring no adverse impact to downstream neighbors. Project will incorporate current drainage and stormwater design standards.
Subdivisions, areas, or streets impacted
HL&P easement that runs northwest to southeast across the Benson Bayou area, State Hwy 3 at League City Pkwy, and the subdivisions of Oaks of Clear Creek and Leisure Lakes.
Project Status
Feasibility Study Phase - The consultant delivered the Final Detention Analysis in April 2021 with several options and locations for detention basins to reduce the water elevation in the Benson Bayou area. The consultant expects to start the Environmental Assessment Phase in March 2022. After the completion of the assessment, City staff will determine if the project is feasible and within the approved budget.
