City of League City Pool Rules

  • *WALK, WALK, WALK!
  • Parents, please watch your children!
  • No breath-holding or prolonged underwater swimming.
  • Do not push, dunk or fight with other guests.
  • No riding or standing on backs or shoulders!

General Rules

  1. Children 11 and under must be directly supervised by a responsible adult or person 15 years or older who is to remain in the aquatics area. If a child is unable to swim he/she must stay within arms-reach of the supervising guardian. Children 12 and older may use the Aquatics Center without an adult. 
  2. Persons with infectious conditions or contagious diseases such as colds, open sores, influenza, eye infections or similar infectious conditions or contagious diseases are not permitted in the pool. 
  3. A person who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not allowed to enter the facility.
  4. Smoking is not permitted within 25 feet of the aquatics area.
  5. Use only a feet first entry when jumping into the pool from the side. No diving or flips from the side are permitted.
  6. Shower before entering the pool and after use of toilet facilities. 
  7. Swim diapers are required for all non-toilet trained guests.
  8. All swimmers must wear an appropriate swimsuit into the water. No cutoff jeans or items that are frayed at the end. Thong bikinis and mermaid tails are prohibited. 
  9. T-shirts may be worn in the pool, but not on use of the diving boards. They must be clean, not cut off or torn, and cannot have rude language or symbols.
  10. Inflatable pool toys will be permitted by the discretion of the pool manager in correlation with pool capacity and programming. Inflatable pool toys must be small in size, non-obstructive, and must not pose a restriction or strangulation hazard. Inflatable objects are not life saving devices and are not permitted to replace U.S. Coast Guard Approved lifejackets.
  11. Flotation devices used by children may only be used when a parent or guardian is IN the water and within arm’s reach of the child. ALL FLOTATION DEVICES MUST BE COAST GUARD APPROVED.
  12. Competitive swim equipment is only allowed while swimming laps including kick-boards, fins, and snorkels.
  13. We reserve the right to have any item removed from the pool for the safety of our other guests.
  14. Pool checks may be performed at the top of each hour. Ages 18 and up may continue to swim, but all other guests must sit outside the water during pool check. These checks will be called on weekends and during heavy traffic times. Heavy traffic times will be determined by the aquatics staff.
  15. Use of profanity or abusive language will not be tolerated.
  16. No outside food or drink is permitted upon entry. Small coolers may be permitted at the discretion of the pool manager for special dietary needs or medical circumstances. No food or drink is permitted in or on the side of the pool. 
  17. At the discretion of the lifeguard, any swimmer may be asked to demonstrate swimming ability to determine if they are able to use designated areas of the pool. 
  18. Visiting with or purposefully distracting the Lifeguards in any way while they are on duty is not permitted. 
  19. Breath holding games and exercises are strictly prohibited. 
  20. If any pool rules are broken or the aquatics staff deems a practice unsafe, pool guests may be asked to cease that practice or leave the pool area. 

League City Parks and Recreation reserves the right to enforce additional rules as needed to ensure the safety of our members and guests. 
Pool guests who repeatedly break pool rules or practice unsafe behaviors will be asked to leave the pool area with no refund. 
• For Your Safety: Kick-boards may only be used in the lap lanes for lap swim purposes
Kick-boards are not to be used as a flotation device for weak or non-swimmers. 

Diving Board Rules at Walker Pool 

  1. At the discretion of the lifeguard, any swimmer may be asked to demonstrate swimming ability to determine if they are able to use designated areas of the pool. 
  2. Leave the diving well promptly after entering. All jumpers must exit the diving well via the ladder or by swimming under the rope to the shallow side.
  3. Do not play on the rope that divides the shallow and deep water. 
  4. No foreign objects are allowed in pockets.
  5. Only one person at a time. Once the jumper has exited the water via the ladder or under the rope, the next swimmer may go.
  6. No goggles, tubes, mats, life-jackets or any flotation devices permitted on the diving boards. 
  7. The line should form on the deck behind the boards. Wait until the board is clear before stepping onto the diving board.
  8. Riders must be in good health. Pregnant women or individuals with heart or back conditions should not use the diving boards.
  9. Only one bounce while on the diving boards. No running on the diving boards. 
  10. No diving from side of the pool except where permitted and during permitted times. 
  11. Non-swimmers not permitted on the diving boards. 
  12. No T-Shirts on the diving boards. 

 Fast Track Rules at Hometown Heroes Pool 

  1. All guests who wish to use the Fast Track must be able to swim independently. Due to the nature of the inflatable, moderate swimming skills are required.
  2. At the discretion of the lifeguard, guests may be asked not to participate on the Fast Track if it is deemed a safety concern or if guests are misusing the equipment.
  3. Only one guest at a time is allowed on the Fast Track obstacle course.
  4. The line should form on the deck behind where the Fast Track is connected to the wall.
  5. Fast Track participants must be in good health. Pregnant women or individuals with heart or back conditions should not use the Fast Track.
