All League City residents and business owners are invited to attend a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, January 10 at 6 p.m. at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center located at 500 West. Walker Street. The meeting will outline proposed projects, costs, and a timeline for a possible May 2019 bond election and/or tax referendum to fund capital improvement projects and infrastructure upgrades within the City,
A second town hall meeting is scheduled for February 7. Statutory requirements mandate that the League City Council must call for an election by February 15, 2019 if they want to put either item on the ballot in May.
During a work session on November 27, 2018, City staff presented the League City Council with a draft list of items for their consideration to included in a possible May election. Proposed projects included in the presentation addressed drainage, streets and traffic, expansion of the City library to include an additional branch, and various public safety improvements including an indoor gun range for the police department, a central fire station, and a new municipal court building.
