On January 22, 2019, the League City Council ordered a special election to be called on Saturday, May 4 for League City voters to consider three separate propositions.
· Proposition A $73 Million General Obligation Bond for Drainage Projects
· Proposition B $72 Million General Obligation Bond for Streets and Traffic Projects
· Proposition C ¼ Cent Sales Tax Referendum for expenditures related to drainage and streets and traffic
After months of presentations, recommendations, and revisions made by City staff, discussions and information gathering at workshops and Council meetings, and with citizen input gathered at public hearings, town hall meetings and online surveys, City Council carefully deliberated over and approved of the projects to be included in the two general obligation bond propositions and the recommendation to call for a sales tax referendum.
League City residents are invited to a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, February 7 from 6-8 p.m. at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center to learn more about the projects in the two bond elections and the projected impact and estimated revenue from the proposed ¼ cent sales tax increase.
