League City is kicking off its annual rain barrel sale on Saturday, April 27. Residents can sign up to purchase one EARLY and qualify for a rebate at the League City Water Smart Summit which will take place at the Home Depot in League City Town Center from 8 a.m. to noon. Barrels are $65 and the first 200 people to sign up are eligible to receive a $25 one-time water utility credit for up to two rain barrel installations. The utility credit is only available to residential customers; commercial water customers are not eligible for this credit.
The City will have a limited number of rain barrels available for the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. Residents are encouraged to pre-order their
rain barrels since supplies are limited.
The rain barrels are used for harvesting rain water, which helps protect rivers and streams from runoff pollution. They are 50-gallon capacity, mosquito resistant, locking child-proof lid, and include an overflow hose attachment. The barrels and all components are made in the USA out of 100% recycled materials. They also help supplement the water supply by using rainwater to irrigate gardens and landscapes.
