Registration is now open for the Fall 2019 Citizen Police Academy. The League City Citizen Police Academy is designed to allow attendees to learn more about the philosophy, values and the day-to-day operations of the League City Police Department. The focus is on how and why members of the department perform their various duties. This is a great opportunity to learn, explore, and get some hands- on experience. The next session will be on Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. for 15 weeks beginning on August 8.
Students will receive instruction on:
- Accident investigation
- Detention Officers
- Criminal investigations
- Family violence
- Firearm safety
- Illicit drugs
- Juvenile laws
- Patrol operations
- Texas penal code
- Traffic law
- Use of force
Applicants must work in League City or be a resident of League City and must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must be in good standing in the community and must not have any
previous criminal convictions and have a valid Texas Driver’s License. Applications should be submitted by July 9 and can be downloaded
