[ARCHIVED] Shooting Suspects Lead Police On Chase

At approximately 1 a.m. on June 30, 2019, League City Police located a vehicle in League City that was wanted as a suspect vehicle in a shooting in Texas City. A League City officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to stop and led police in a pursuit. The suspect vehicle wrecked and sustained damage but continued northbound on I-45. The car stopped on the northbound I-45 main slab north of Clear Creek in Webster. At least one of the three occupants exited the vehicle with a weapon, and a League City officer fired several times through his windshield. The three suspects fled east into the field near a construction site. All three suspects were captured, and one had a gunshot wound in his buttocks. It is unclear if the wound was from the Texas City shooting or from the officer.

A handgun and an AR-15 were located in the suspect vehicle.

19-year-old Jazon Elizondo was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention in a Vehicle and bond was set at $25,000. 19-year-old Atzahel Salas was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention on Foot and bond was set at $2,500. A 17-year-old suspect was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention on Foot.

Harris County Investigators are conducting the officer-involved shooting.
