The League City Fire Marshal’s Office would like to remind the residents and visitors of League City that it is unlawful to discharge or possess opened fireworks within the city limits of League City. Per the City Ordnance a firework is defined as “any composition or device designed to produce a visible or audible effect by combustion, explosion, deflagration or detonation”. The Fire Marshal’s Office will be out patrolling for fireworks over the July 4thholiday and a violation of this law could result in a fine of up to $2000. The Fire Marshal’s Office would recommend attending a professional firework demonstration such as the League City Fireworks Extravaganza on July 3rd, located at the Chester L. Davis Sportsplex, 1251 League City Parkway. To report illegal activity please contact the League City Public Safety Dispatch Center at 281-332-2566. The League City Fire Marshal’s Office hopes everyone has a happy and safe Fourth of July.
