While you’re staying home as much as you can, there’s another way you can help the League City community- by taking the 2020 United States Census. Once a decade, America comes together to count every resident in the United States, creating national awareness of the importance of the census and its valuable statistics
Why is it so important?
In addition to counting League City’s population and households, Census data provides the basis for reapportioning congressional seats, redistricting and distributing more than $675 billion in federal funds annually to support states, counties and local communities’ vital programs. Think of your morning commute: Census results influence highway planning and construction, as well as grants for buses, subways, and other public transit systems. Or think of your local schools: Census results help determine how money is allocated for the Head Start program and for grants that support teachers and special education.
Take the Census TODAY
The 2020 Census will ask a few simple questions about you and everyone who is or will be living with you on April 1, 2020. Make sure you are counted by filling out your Census online at census.gov or sending your questionnaire through the mail.
