Let’s go fishing!
The League City Parks and Recreation Department invites residents to participate in the City’s first Virtual Fishing Tournament , which will run from June 1 to June 8. Everyone who participates will receive a t-shirt and the winners in each age group and fish category will receive a trophy.
How it works: Individuals can fish anywhere they’d like, ensuring that state laws are adhered to (ex. fishing licenses, catch limits, etc.) The tournament will run from 5 a.m. on June 1 to 5 a.m. on June 8. The night before the tournament starts, those registered will receive a unique identifying code. Participants will then submit a photo via email of the fish they catch next to a standard measuring device (ruler, tape measure, or yard stick) and their identifying code will need to be in the photo as well. The longest fish in each category/age group will win!
Categories: Speckled trout, catfish and drums.
Age Groups: 6 and under, 7-12, 13-17, and 18 and older
Registration is now open until May 25 and can be done online at www.leaguecity.com/program-registration or by phone: 281-554-1180
