[ARCHIVED] FY 2021 Budget Season Underway

league city logo

On Tuesday, July 14, League City Manager John Baumgartner and City staff presented the League City Council with a proposed budget for the upcoming 2021 Fiscal Year, which begins October 1, 2020. Click here to see the Proposed FY 2021 Budget.

Starting Monday, July 20, and over the next several weeks, League City will be hosting six City Council work sessions to review and discuss the proposed budget. At each of the sessions, directors and managers from different City departments will present their proposed budget and answer questions from council members. Members of the public are invited to attend the work sessions and provide comments; however, seating will be extremely limited due to social distancing requirements.

All six work sessions will be streamed live on the City’s Facebook page and on the City’s website at this link. Members can provide feedback at any time regarding the budget process, individual department budgets, and overall spending priorities for the City by submitting an online comment at www.leaguecity.com/budgetcomment. All submitted comments will be shared with City Council members and with the City Manager. All public comment submissions become public record.

See below for a schedule of work sessions. The League City Council is scheduled to vote on the first reading of the FY 2021 budget ordinance on August 25, with a second reading and vote scheduled for September 8.
