As League City continues to grow in population, the League City Police Department is looking to recruit more officers to join the department. On Friday, July 24, Chief Gary Ratliff swore in new four new cadets who recently graduated from the Alvin Community College Police Academy. Robert Baker, Lauren Beck, Courtney Cooper, and Vanessa Martinez will now go thru several months of training with the League City Police Department before they can become official police officers.

LCPD is seeking to fill six additional officer positions. The department recently administered a civil service exam to those interested in becoming a police officer. Another test will be administered in the fall. For more information, click here.
In addition, LCPD recently welcomed 11-week-old Walker Allen McCurley as its first junior police officer. Walker was born April 29 to LCPD Sergeant Tim McCurley and his wife Christa McCurley. Congratulations and welcome to the team!
