[ARCHIVED] League Park Renovation on Target for Fall Completion

league park

If you’ve driven anywhere by League Park and League City’s historic district in the last few months, you’ve probably seen the constant construction. The park is in the midst of a major renovation and is getting new pavers, lighting, and a larger open lawn area that can be used to host future events. The park’s pavers are being replaced in a layout that is more user friendly for visitors and the park’s tree canopy will be accented with additional landscape beds along the perimeter. Lighting includes new decorative light poles and catenary lighting over a large paver section in the center of the park.

In addition to giving the park a face lift, the scope of this capital improvement project includes major drainage improvements for the historic district surrounding the park, including a new storm sewer line that will connect to an existing storm sewer at Kansas Street.

Overall, the contractor is approximately 80 percent complete and is on target to be substantially complete by November 2020, just in time for the City’s annual Holiday in the Park festival.
