[ARCHIVED] Lower Clear Creek & Dickinson Bayou Watershed Study

Dickinson Bayou

The Lower Clear Creek and Dickinson Bayou Watershed Study is requesting feedback on the findings in the first two phases of the study. The study area includes the portion of the Clear Creek watershed within Galveston and Harris Counties beginning near Dixie Farm Road, and the Dickinson Bayou Watershed located in Galveston County.

The Goal of the Study is to

  • Identify the region’s vulnerabilities to flood hazards using Atlas 14 rainfall data
  • Refine and develop concepts to reduce flood risks along the main channels of Clear Creek and Dickinson Bayou
  • Develop a comprehensive Flood Mitigation Plan that supports the needs and objectives of each regional partner and the residents in these communities

Over the last two weeks, two public meetings have been held "virtually" to present the findings of the first two phases of the study. Residents who were unable to attend the October 28 meeting focusing on Dickinson Bayou, can view the presentation and video at the links below.
