As of 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 21, the Boil Water Advisory for League City has been lifted. It is now safe to drink and consume the water.
To be on the safe side, residents and business should run their water for at least one minute to bring clean water into the taps and dump the ice in the ice maker and have it make at least three batches before using the ice.
League City had been under a boil-water notice since Wednesday when the water pressure dropped below the required minimum set by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. When water pressure is low, there's a chance bacteria could form in the water supply.
League City has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of February 21.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact League City Water Manager Tommy Arredondo at 281-554-1040.
