April 18-24 is Volunteer Appreciation Week, a time to celebrate our volunteers and recognize their positive impact in our community. League City volunteers work countless hours each  year to different departments, making a huge impact to City services and improving facilities, amenities, customer service, and more.

There's many ways to get involved with the City of League City. We have volunteer opportunities fit for different ages and interests across various departments.

  • If you're an animal lover, the League City Animal Care has plenty of ways you can help, ranging from direct animal care, assisting adopters, pet training programs, play groups, clerical assistance and more! Check out the different options and submit your application on the League City Animal Care website.
  • If you're looking for a way to give back to your community while interacting with other civic-minded individuals and police officers, you can become a police volunteer for the League City Police Department. After attending their Citizen Police Academy, volunteers assist with code compliance enforcement issues including removal of prohibited signs, reporting graffiti, and overgrown yards. Learn more about how you can get started on the LCPD Volunteer page.
  • The Helen Hall Library has a number of volunteer programs for all ages. Whether you want to help with events, tutoring, programming for children, teens, or adults, there's something for everyone. Check out all their volunteer opportunities and apply to get involved on the library's volunteer page
  • The Parks and Recreation Department actively looks for volunteer coaches for youth sports throughout the year. Other volunteers help with events, programming and more. If you're interested in coaching, reach out to Tarah-Dahl Campbell at 281-554-1191. For other volunteer opportunities, contact Katrina Hersh at 281-554-1184.
  • The Parks Operations Department is responsible for maintaining and keeping League City parks beautiful. Volunteers who love the outdoors help staff clean parks, maintain plants, and more. Reach out to John Orsag for volunteer opportunities at 281 554-1156.
  • Every day, League City volunteer firefighters answer the call of our families, friends, and neighbors who need assistance. Volunteer Firefighters are a special type of people, with many different reasons for answering the call of duty. Become a League City Volunteer Firefighter and learn about how you can apply to the next Fire Academy
