League City is kicking off it’s first Sunday in the Park event this Sunday, May 2 with a performance by the Southern Shanks Band at League Park. Along with musical entertainment there will be food trucks and family-friendly games, crafts, and demonstrations provided by the League City Parks and Recreation Department and the Helen Hall Library.

Admission is free, but guests are asked to bring a new or gently used children’s book to donate to the League City Rotary Club which provides reading materials to disadvantaged Clear Creek ISD students throughout the school year.

City staff and Council members will be on hand at the event from 12 to 4 p.m. to meet with residents and distribute a variety of free swag items.

Attendees are invited to bring their blankets, lawn chairs, and coolers (plastic cans only please) to enjoy a day of fun at the newly remodeled park.  Pets are welcome as well.
