League City will be hosting its second Sundays in the Park event on May 9 with a performance by the Velvet Punch band at League Park. Along with musical entertainment there will be food trucks and family-friendly games, crafts, and demonstrations provided by the League City Parks and Recreation Department and the Helen Hall Library. Carnations will be gifted to mom's who attend for Mother's Day.
Admission is free, but guests are asked to bring a pack of diapers (larger sizes or pull-ups preferred) that will be donated to Anchor Point, a local nonprofit that champions the future of children through empowering and educating their parents.
City staff and Council members will be on hand at the event from 12 to 4 p.m. to meet with residents and distribute a variety of free swag items.
Attendees are invited to bring their blankets, lawn chairs, and coolers (plastic cans only please) to enjoy a day of fun at the newly remodeled park. Pets are welcome as well.
