The City of League City is mourning the passing of Rusty Bolen, League City's former Parks Operation Superintendent.
Rusty dedicated his career to the successes of the Parks Department and the city for 30 years and propelled League City to having one of the best park systems in Galveston County.
Rusty started working for the City in 1990 at 18 years old. He was a maintenance worker on the mowing crew fresh out of high school and held every position in the department before becoming Parks Operations Superintendent.
He was a dive master, certified arborist, but most importantly, a friend to all who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Rusty recently retired from the City in April of 2021 and was joined by coworkers and friends to celebrate his successes. He will be missed by many.
