mayor accept award

League City has been named the Clear Creek Independent School District’s 2022 Community Partner of the Year. At a ceremony on Friday, May 6, Superintendent Eric Williams thanked Mayor Pat Hallisey and staff with the City’s Planning and Development, Engineering, and Project Management Departments for their support of CCISD’s 2017 Bond efforts to build new schools and replace aging campuses on time and on budget—many of which are in League City. Williams also thanked staff for incorporating students and CCISD campuses at City events, celebrations, and initiatives, including the City’s new Public Art Initiative. CCISD students also earn volunteer hours needed for graduation at the Helen Hall Library and Animal Shelter, and many work part-time during the summer at the City’s pools and recreation centers. In addition, the League City Police Department regularly collaborates with the district on a variety of safety and security initiatives including active shooter trainings, school zone enforcement, crossing guards, and internet safety.
