[ARCHIVED] 5K Run Rescheduled for Saturday, June 4

League City’s “Red, White, and Blue Top Gun 5k Fun Run” (which was canceled due to rain) has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 4 at 7:30 a.m. which just happens to be National Trails Day! The 5k will still take place on the brand new running/walking trail located at Hometown Heroes Park.  Registration for the race is STILL OPEN.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED:

  • Those who have registered and have already picked up their race packet (with swag bag, shirt, and race bib) do not need to take any further action and can just show up on Saturday, June 4 for the event. The 5k will begin at 7:30 a.m. (If you have lost your racing bib, you will need to pick up a new one the morning of the event.)
  • Those who have NOT picked up their race packet can do so at the Hometown Heroes Recreation desk on Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 between the hours of 4 to 8 p.m. *You can also pick up your packet on race day starting at 6:30 a.m. at Hometown Heroes Park.

RUN AND SUBMIT YOUR RESULTS VIRTUALLY BY JUNE 6

REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN—INVITE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

  • Registration has been extended for the event, so encourage others to join you on a walk or run on the new trail. June 4 is National Trails Day, so it’s the perfect opportunity to get out and explore League City’s newest trail
  • The cost to register is $30 and all proceeds will benefit League City’s Blue Santa Program, which provides toys, clothes, and personal hygiene items to children and the elderly in our community during the holiday season.

KEEP ENJOYING THE TRAILS AFTER THE RACE

After the 5K run, the League City Parks and 4B Board will dedicate and officially open the new obstacle course at Hometown Heroes Park. In addition, over at Rustic Oaks Park (5101 Orange Blossom Court), the League City’s Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a family-friendly and FREE National Trails Day event from 9 to 11 a.m.  Come out to the park and explore the Feathered Friends Trail System, pick up some free League City 60th anniversary swag, and enjoy fun activities for the kids, including games, crafts, putt-putt golf, storytime, and more.
