Alexander Winfield was a Buffalo Soldier in the Civil War, and one of the first African-Americans to settle in League City. Last year, City Council announced that a future road would be named after him to honor his legacy and contributions to our city.
Winfield Road will be located between the Cracker Barrel and Space Center RV Park near the Gulf Freeway. It will take a 90-degree turn and then connect to Hobbs Road. Deborah Konrad, Winfield’s great-granddaughter, was on ABC 13 recently to tell his story and share her thoughts on the future road.
