[ARCHIVED] LCPD Sergeant Competes on TV Show

Sequence 01.00_00_10_011.Still002

Austin Frakes—a Sergeant with the League City Police Department—recently competed on the hit show, Forged in Fire, and his episode aired a few weeks ago. The show features four competitors whose bladesmithing skills are put to the test. He has been bladesmithing in his garage for about 3 years after getting hooked on the show. In September, Assistant Police Chief Woitena forwarded Austin the casting call to be on the show. After months of hearing nothing, he received a phone call asking if he could be in Connecticut in a few days for filming. He came in second place on the show, and says he gained knowledge and experience from the opportunity. Look for Austin on season 9, episode 26 of Forged in Fire.
