The City's Municipal Complex on Walker Street is looking festive as we enter the most wonderful time of the year! The City hired a company called Lights for Our Cause to hang white lights and wreaths on City Hall, the Municipal Courts Building, and the Helen Hall Library. Not only does this partnership brighten up our City buildings for the month of December, but it also helps some very important causes.
Lights for our Cause is a local company that donates a portion of their proceeds to local animal shelters and the Lone Survivor Foundation, now called Operation Red Wings Foundation, which supports wounded veterans. In addition to these monetary donations, they choose a local disabled veteran each year, and decorate their home at no charge. This year, they chose a League City veteran who had never had his home decorated with lights before. Once Lights for Our Cause decorates a veterans home, they decorate their home again every year following.
Along with supporting wounded veterans, Lights for our Cause also donates a portion of their proceeds to animal shelters. This year, they are partnering with League City Animal Care.
Thank you to Lights for Our Cause for brightening our buildings with lights and supporting our veterans and animals in need.
