Texas Master Gardener Trainees visit Clear Creek Nature Center
League City was happy to welcome students of the Texas Master Gardener program to the Dr. Ned and Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center on Tuesday, March 21. The Texas Master Gardener training program is an 11-week course offered by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Students learn about native plants, vegetable and fruit tree gardening, pest management, water conservation, tree cultivation, lawn management, organic gardening, and more. They visited the Clear Creek Nature Center to learn how to identify native plants in the area.
After completing the class, Galveston County Master Gardeners serve as gardening ambassadors and share their expertise with free classes, answering a gardening hotline, and maintaining the demonstration garden in Carbide Park.
