Upcoming Events

Astronomy in the Park

Come look at the stars on May 6 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Rustic Oaks Park. This is event is free to public and open to all ages.

Nature with Kristine

Connect with nature through activities such as arts and crafts, games, and scavenger hunts! No registration required and free to the public. Classes are led by Kristine Rivers a nature enthusiast, avid birder, and owner of Birding for Fun, a program that provides educational services, field trips, and guided tours for birding.  

Nature BINGO!: May 6, 9 to 11 a.m. at Rustic Oaks Park
Mini Beast Spotting: May 6, 2 to 4 p.m. at Heritage Park

Upcoming Programs

Registration for our programs can be done in person or by visiting our online registration site.  The summer brochure can be viewed online or picked up at Hometown Heroes Park or the Community Center.

Strength and Conditioning Class

IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH & STAY ACTIVE! The next session of our Strength and Conditioning class starts May 2! In this class, participants will learn proper technique to avoid injury, increase joint stability and improve bone health. Class will meet on Tuesdays, May 2 to 23 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This class is open to ages 50 and older. The registration fee is $60. Registration can be done in person or by visiting the online registration site.


Ballroom Dance Lessons

Have you ever wanted to learn East Coast Swing or Cha Cha? We have the class for you! Partners, singles and all skill levels welcome! The next session will meet on Mondays from May 1 to 22. Registration can be done in person or by visiting the online registration site. The class fee is $40 per person for 1 class and $60 per person for classes per session.

  • East Coast Swing: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Cha Cha: 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Jr. Guard Program

Interested in becoming a lifeguard? This course helps to build a foundation of knowledge, attitudes, and skills for future lifeguards. Participants will receive a t-shirt and have an opportunity to get CPR certified. Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to Noon and is open to ages 11 to 14 years. All classes take place at Hometown Heroes Pool.

  • Session 1: June 6 to 22
  • Session 2: July 11 to 27
  • Cost: Residents: $60 | Non-residents: $90
  • Registration: Residents: Open | Non-residents: May 10
