[ARCHIVED] Annual League City Music Festival May 5 and 6

The City of League City is proud to sponsor the 67th annual League City Music Festival and BBQ Cookoff on May 5 and 6 at Walter Hall Park. The event is a long-standing tradition in League City and is hosted by the League City Lions Club with the support of dozens of sponsors including local businesses. All proceeds from the festival go to support a variety of Lion’s Club charity efforts including disaster recovery, meals for seniors and families at Bayside Intermediate, glasses for low-income students, and scholarships for local seniors.

Friday, May 5

Gates open at Walter Hall Park at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 5 with FREE entry until 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., the cost to enter is $5 for anyone 13 and older. Nearly half a dozen musical artists will perform from 4 to 11 p.m., including rising country music star Jake Bush, who will hit the stage at 10 p.m.  Vendors, an interactive kids’ zone, kayaking, and dozens of booths and trucks will be serving food and drinks throughout the evening. In addition, several dozen BBQ teams will be at the park getting ready to compete in the festival’s annual IBCA-sanctioned BBQ cookoff on Saturday.

Saturday, May 6

Gates on May 6 open at Walter Hall Park at 10 a.m. with musical performers throughout the day as well as an interactive kids’ zone, kayaking, and food trucks and drink tents. Entry is FREE from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. After 5 p.m. the cost to enter is $5 for anyone 13 and older. Rising music star Hamilton Loomis, who was born on Galveston Island, will hit the state at 8:30 p.m. followed by Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a Houston-based band that performs hits from the 60’s to the 80’s.
