Did you know that 25 percent of all fatal crashes in the Houston-Galveston region involve a pedestrian or bicyclist? In order to reduce this rate and ensure that we all get to our destination safely, it’s important for all drivers to understand the rules as it pertains to sharing the road with bicyclists.
As part of National Bicycle Safety Month, League City—in partnership with the Houston Galveston Area Council—is offering a FREE, online safety class on Wednesday, May 24 from 12 to 1 p.m.
The one-hour class is for anyone who drives a motor vehicle and reviews the rules and best practices of safely sharing the road with bicyclists. Topics covered include:
- Sharing the road
- Infrastructure
- Common crashes
- Taking the lane
- Interactive scenarios
