Changes to Solid Waste Contract 

The contract includes new benefits for League City residents

On May 1, 2023, the City of League City started a new contract with AmeriWaste. This new contract includes a slight rate increase and will provide some extra benefits to League City residential customers.

Changes Under New AmeriWaste Contract

•  Slight rate increase
   Rates are increasing from $19.66/month to $20.84/month per household.
•  Additional heavy trash collection days
  Residential customers can now place heavy trash items out on both of their pickup days. This includes up to six bags of yard waste and up to two items of heavy trash—including household appliances—from each residential unit per week.
• New curbside household hazardous waste events
  Along with our spring and fall household hazardous waste events at Hometown Heroes, there will be two curbside household hazardous waste events, one in summer and one in winter.  Watch for date announcements for these curbside events on the City’s website and social media pages.
