July is Parks & Rec Month!

Did you know since 1985, the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) has celebrated July as America’s official Park and Recreation Month. This is a time for us to celebrate the importance of parks and recreation in our lives. We invite you to celebrate Park and Recreation Month with us throughout the month of July! Every day we will have something to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month. Daily updates will be posted on the League City Parks and Recreation Facebook page at 9 a.m.

Upcoming Events


Citizen Appreciation Day

Citizen Appreciation Day will be held July 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hometown Heroes Park. Come share your patriotic spirit with us as we recognize League City's most valuable asset-our citizens! The annual League City Citizen Appreciation Day will feature family-friendly activities including live entertainment, a petting zoo, face-painting, and moonwalks. The Hometown Heroes Pool will be open as well. We will serve complimentary hot dogs and cotton candy. All residents are invited to attend. 


Upcoming Programs

Registration for our programs can be done in person or by visiting our online registration site.  The summer brochure can be viewed online or picked up at Hometown Heroes Park or the Community Center.

Art Adult Workshop

Join us Saturday, July 1 for Adult Art Workshop at the Community Center. The workshop will take place from 12 to 2 p.m. and the registration fee is $35 per person. This workshop is open to ages 16 and older and all experience levels. Supplies are provided.

Harvest Fest Vendor Registration

Vendor registration for our the League City Harvest Fest opens July 5 at 8 a.m.! Harvest Fest is a popular annual tradition that grows in size each year. This family-friendly event will feature artisan and craft vendors for holiday shopping, food trucks, games, hayrides, and more! The event will be held on October 14 from 9 to 2 p.m. Registration can be done in person or  by visiting our online registration site. 

Vendor Information: Booth spaces are 10x10 marked spaces. Vendors must provide tables, tents, chairs or decorations/signage.
Fee:  Residents: $75; Non-residents: $125.

Fencing

En Garde! Join us for our next session of Fencing, July 6 to 27, and learn techniques of the sword in a fun and safe environment. Class meets on Thursdays.  Registration is open and can be done in person or by visiting our online registration site.  Classes will be held at the Community Center: 400 S. Kansas Ave. The registration fee is $65.
  •  Youth, Ages 6-10: 6 to 7 p.m.
  • Cadet, Ages 11 and older: 7 to 8 p.m.
  • Competitive, Ages 13 and older: 8 to 9 p.m.
