[ARCHIVED] New Mural at Lynn Gripon Park

If you’ve driven by Lynn Gripon Park at Countryside lately you’ve probably noticed a new addition to League City's Public Art Scene.  As part of recent renovations at the park, an interactive mural has been painted along the back of new concrete bleachers that were recently added to the park’s pavilion.

The mural, created by local artist Elizabeth Umanzor, features plants and wildlife that are native to the park—including birds, butterflies, a possum, a turtle, an armadillo, and even an alligator.   Learn more about Elizabeth's inspiration for the mural by watching the video below.

More Mini Murals Coming This Summer

Elizabeth will soon be adding her creativity to a traffic utility box as part of League City’s mini mural program. Six mini murals will be painted on traffic boxes this summer along League City Parkway and various intersections including Butler Road,  Bay Area Boulevard, Landing Boulevard, the I-45 feeder road, and the entrance to Kroger at Market 96.   This will bring the total number of mini murals on traffic boxes around League  City to 26.

Local resident and professional mural artist Adam Socie recently completed painting a box at the intersection of League City Parkway and Magnolia Meadows Lane. Check it out in the video below.
