Citizen Police Academy Open for Registration

The 13-week class begins on Thursday, August 17


Overview

The Citizen Police Academy was formed in League City in 2002. It gives residents an opportunity to see how and why the League City Police Department operates as it does. 

The class is 13 weeks long and will be held every Thursday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Application Requirements

  • All applicants must live in League City or work in League City 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a background check

Fill out an application

Applications can be scanned and emailed, sent by USPS mail, or turned in at the police department located at 555 W. Walker St.

Instruction

Some of the class topics include:

  • Family Violence 
  • Criminal Investigations
  • Traffic Law
  • SWAT Operations
  • Use of Force
  • Patrol Procedures
  • Firearms Safety and a Range Day

Attendees are also put through mock traffic stop scenarios, which cover incidents officers might face while on duty.
