Upcoming Events

Updated Pool Hours

Our Summer pool season is coming to a close, starting August 21, both pools will have weekend hours only and will remain open till Labor Day weekend. Hometown Heroes Park will be open Saturday/Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m. and Walker Pool will be open from 1 to 7 p.m.


Building Closure- August 26

Twice a year, as part of League City’s contract with AmeriWaste, we host a Household Hazardous Waste event at Hometown Heroes Park. The fall event will be on Saturday, August 26. These events are for League City residents only. You must present your driver’s license and recent utility bill as proof of residency. The building at Hometown Heroes and Pool will be closed, but the dog park will remain open. There may be significant delays getting into the parking lot due to the event.

For anyone wanted to visit the pool, the Walker Pool (450 W Walker) will be open from 1 to 7 p.m. on August 26. 

Astronomy in the Park

Astronomy in the Park is back starting September 2 at Rustic Oaks Park from 7 to 9:30 p.m. We encourage those attending to bring binoculars if you have them. Astronomy in the Park will run through September 2023 through June 2024 on the first Saturday of each month. This program is run by Daniel Roy.

Registration for our programs can be done in person or by visiting our online registration site.  The brochure can be viewed online or picked up at Hometown Heroes Park or the Community Center.

Adult Men's Basketball

Coming back this Fall, we will have our Adult Men's Basketball league! The league will consist of 8 games. Practices and games will be held Monday-Friday. If you are interested in playing and don't have a team, please email Eric Rich.

League Season: September 4 to November 18
Ages: 18 and older
Cost: Residents: $250 | Non-residents: $375 (per team)
Location: Hometown Heroes Park
Registration: OPEN

NEW PROGRAM- Homeschool Coding Class

Unleash your child's imagination. Create, play and learn at their own pace as they gain skills in coding and problem solving. Learn to code and have a blast while building awesome video games. Get support and encouragement from our instructors. The first session will run Tuesdays, September 5 -26. Class time for kids ages 6-7 is 12 to 1 p.m. and ages 8-14 is 1 to 2 p.m. The session fee is $125. Register today! 

NEW PROGRAM- MEAT WITH STEVE

Master your backyard BBQ skills. Class is open to novices and experts alike. We will conduct a two-day interactive BBQ class where we will learn meat selection, trimming, prep, flavor profiles, and proper doneness. Brisket, pork ribs, and turkey will be the focus. We will also prepare side dishes, appetizers, and dessert. Class will take place at Hometown Heroes Park.

Class Dates: October 20, 6 to 10 p.m. and October 21, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ages: 16 and older
Cost: $125

Musical Theatre Class

Musical Theatre classes are open for all students who want to sing, dance, build confidence and have fun! No extra rehearsals or time commitments. Open to all skill levels from beginning to advanced. Final showcase is designed around the students enrolled for a unique experience! The end of semester showcase will take place at Hometown Heores Park on November 1.

Dates: Wednesdays, August 30 to November 1
Times: Ages 6 - 10: 5 to 6 p.m. | Ages 11 - 17: 6 to 7 p.m.
Cost: $200 per child
Registration: OPEN
