Water Line Project to Impact Traffic on FM 270 and Davis Road

Lane closures along a portion of FM 270 near the Clear Creek Nature Center will begin Monday, August 28 due to the installation of a 36-inch water line.

Two northbound lanes will be closed, from just south of the nature center entrance to the intersection of FM 270 and Henderson Avenue (just north of the bridge). Due to the lane closures, traffic will be reconfigured to two northbound lanes, a shared turn lane, and two southbound lanes. This closure is scheduled to begin on August 28 and will last through early November.

Pictured in the map below is the location of the planned lane closures. During construction, two lanes will remain open in each direction.

Impacts On Davis Road

In addition, sidewalks and crosswalks along a portion of Davis Road have been reconfigured to route pedestrians, particularly students from nearby schools, safely away from the construction and the heavy equipment in the area. Watch the video below to learn more about the project and the impact construction will have on FM270 and Davis Road.

About the Water Line Project

The installation of 17,730 linear feet of 36-inch water supply transmission line will provide an alternative connection from the HWY 3 Booster Pump Station to the South Shore Harbor Water Storage and Booster Pump Station. This line will provide water system supply redundancy and improve water supply to the east side of League City’s water system by providing a third crossing of Clear Creek.
