On Mother’s Day of 2022, League City resident Langdon Cassidy suffered a heart attack at his home. Cassidy’s wife Jessica at first thought her husband might be suffering from heartburn or indigestion until she noticed he was turning blue.
“My son said Mom you need to call 911 and he ran next door and got help from the neighbor,” said Jessica.
When League City EMS arrived, the neighbor was performing CPR and Langdon was in full cardiac arrest. After taking over CPR and using a defibrillator, the crew was able to revive him and transport him to UTMB where he made a full recovery.
A year later, Langdon and his wife were able to meet EMS Shift Commanders Kevin Frieze and Shawn Doyle, and Advanced EMT Alexandra Doyle to personally thank them for saving his life and to tell them how much they are appreciated.
“I just wanted to give them a handshake, a smile, and personally tell them thank you,” said Langdon.
