NEW SCAM INVOLVING CALLERS WANTING PAYMENT ON PAST DUE WATER BILLS
Recently, League City has learned of a new scam where businesses and residents are getting phone calls from people claiming they work for the League City Utility Billing Department. The scammers are telling customers they are past due on their water bill and will have their water immediately shut off if they don’t pay their bill with Zelle or Venmo.
League City does NOT call residents and businesses to let them know they are behind on a payment. You will receive a notice in the mail. League City DOES NOT accept Venmo or Zelle payments.
Residents and businesses can pay via credit card over the phone by calling our UB number at 281-554-1335 or by signing up at our online portal at
https://tylerselfservice.leaguecitytx.gov/css/default.aspx which allows you to make one-time credit card payments or set up a recurring payment for each month through your bank.
