Upcoming Events

Dance for Individuals with Disabilities

Join us November 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. for our Dance for Individuals with Disabilities at Hometown Heroes Park! Dinner will be sponsored by the Lions Club and music provided by The Dash Gordon Foundation. Registration is currently open League City residents and will open October 18 for non-residents at 8 a.m. Registration fee is $5 and that includes 1 adult/caretaker.

Breakfast with Santa 

Registration for our annual Breakfast with Santa event is open. The registration fee for League City residents is $20/person. Breakfast with Santa will be on December 9 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Martial Arts Seminar

Interested in learning more about Modern Arnis, Aikido, and Iaido and trying them out? Join us on December 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Community Center. Registration fee is $20 per person. Registration can be done online or day of.

Upcoming Programs

Registration for our programs can be done in person or by visiting our online registration site.  The brochure can be viewed online or picked up at Hometown Heroes Park or the Community Center.

Private Guitar Lessons

Participants can register for a 30 minute private lesson on Thursday between 4 and 8 p.m. The next session will run November 30 to December 18. (no class 12/21 or 12/28). The class fee is $120 and classes are held at the Community Center. Classes are taught by James Robbins. 

Modern Arnis (Filipino Martial Arts) 

Modern Arnis combines a variety of stick, empty hand and jujitsu techniques. Techniques include blocks and disarms, joint locks, sweeps, throws and cane sparring. Learn self discovery, self-mastery, achieve personal excellence.

This class meets Monday/Friday: 6-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays: 9:30-11 a.m.

  • Session 1: Dec 1 – 30 (no class 12/22, 12/23 or 12/25)
  • Session 2: Jan 1 – Feb 2 (no class 1/15)
  • Session 3: Feb 3 – March 1
  • Ages: 13 and older
  • Class Fee: $65 (Dec session prorate at $59.50)

Tai Chi

This class will meet Saturdays: 8:30-9:15 a.m.

  • Session 1: Dec 2 - 30 (no class 12/23)
  • Session 2: Jan 6 -27
  • Session 3: Feb 3-24
  • Ages: 18 and older
  • Class Fee: $45 

Iaido (Japanese Martial Arts)

This class will meet Tuesday/Thursdays: 6:30-7:25 p.m. and Saturdays: 9-9:55am

  • Session 1: Dec 2 - Jan 2 (no class 12/23 or 12/26)
  • Session 2: Jan 4 – 30
  • Session 3: Feb 2 -27
  • Ages: 15 and older
  • Class Fee: $60

Aikido (Japanese Martial Arts)

This class will meet Tuesday/Thursdays: 7:30-8:45 p.m. and Saturdays: 10 - Noon

  • Session 1: Dec 2 - Jan 2 (no class 12/23 or 12/26)
  • Session 2: Jan 4 – 30
  • Session 3: Feb 2 -27
  • Ages: 15 and older
  • Class Fee: $60 

If people sign up for both the Aikido and Iaido class each session would be $80 dollars.
